What is balloon sinuplasty?

This endoscopic surgery is recommended for patients who’ve been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis and aren’t experiencing relief from medication. This non-surgical procedure helps to open up blocked sinuses and improve nasal breathing.

What are the pros of this sinus surgery?

This surgery offers an array of benefits for the chronic sinusitis sufferer including:

Less invasive: Unlike other traditional sinus surgeries, balloon sinuplasty does not remove bone or tissue from the nose, making the recovery time much faster with fewer possible post-procedural side effects.

Effective: Many patients not only notice instant relief and the ability to properly breathe out of their noses again but also results from this procedure can last up to two years or more.

Quick recovery time: Since no incisions or cutting is involved and the techniques are minimally invasive, recovery time is significantly reduced compared to more traditional sinus surgeries. While this will vary a bit depending on each patient, it’s still pretty quick. Most patient can resume their normal activities within a couple of days.

Performed in-office: You can now have this procedure right here in our office under topical anesthesia. This means a faster treatment with fewer side effects. No operating room and no general anesthesia.

What is involved in the balloon sinuplasty procedure?

Before turning to our Munster, IN, ENT team for balloon sinuplasty you might want to know what to expect. Here are the steps involved in the popular procedure,
